Things my students say: What did you call me?

I had this student once from Russia. She was part of a group of about 5 students we had from the employment agency. She was probably in her 50s, super frizzy, blonde hair, and very bohemian in her dress. She was really sweet, had 5 children, but also a little crazy...in a good way. The way that kept things interesting.

One day in class we were reviewing for the test at the end of the week. I was pointing out to the students which points in the chapters they should take a look at again. All was well. Then, my Russian student raised her hand to ask a question:

Me: So you will need to talk about errands you've run this week.
Student: And whores?
Me: Uh....what?
Student: Whores?
Me: ....
Student: *more pronounced and looking at the other students. Whoooorreessss?
Me:.....*trying not to giggle
Student: Whooorreeessss.
Me:* giggle giggle
Student: You do them?
Me: Yes.......
Student: In the day?
Me: I suppose? *giggle giggle....OH. CHORES. Chhhhhhhores. Yes, Errands and chores.

Normally I can keep myself composed in these situations, but I just couldn't stop giggling. I'm sure to this day the students have no idea why I had to excuse myself for a few minutes.
